Today YOU have the chance to be a superhero!! TPT is having a Superhero sale on Wednesday because all teachers are superheroes!
To help you prepare for the sale I wanted to remind you that you should go back through your purchases and leave feedback! You can go to your purchases, and then sort by items that still need feedback to help you find which ones you still need to leave feedback for!
Make sure you take the time to do this, because then you will earn more TPT credits to use during the sale on WEDNESDAY!!
To help you with this I am going to choose one lucky winner who leaves feedback for me TODAY!! Just leave a comment with your TPT name so I can find you!
Sorry for being gone for a few weeks! Things have been crazy around here!
I am linking up this afternoon with The Teaching Trio to bring you my Sunday Scoop!
Our talent show is coming up quickly! It is next week! Yikes! I can't believe how quickly it is here. I have to get the talent in order so that way I can get everything together.
My sister's wedding shower is the first weekend of spring break, so I have a lot to get together for that still. I have slowly been working on it, but we still haven't ordered any food, and I still have NO games!
Since I will be in California for all of spring break I need to make sure I have the week after spring break planned before I go out of town!
I'm so excited my daughter is home this week too! My mom has been watching her since the middle of January, and my parent's live an hour and a half away. My MIL was diagnosed with cancer over Christmas, so she hasn't been able to watch our baby girl as she has been going through treatments to get better. We are thankful that she started chemo last Tuesday and is doing great! She will watch our sweet girl tomorrow, and then some friends of ours are helping out later this week!!
I have my observation tomorrow, so I should really be preparing more for that. I am being observed in math, which I believe is my best subject, so I'm really not too worried about it. I really need to get our tax stuff together too though!
I am hoping to have my report cards done by Friday. Our trimester ends on Friday, so I would love to have all of my comments and everything already done, so all I have to do on Friday is make sure that all of my grades are in and updated.
Since we have the end of our trimester on Friday, we have an early dismissal. We always plan a lunch out when this happens, since we don't get to do it very often! I love my work friends, and I know I wouldn't be able to do this job every day without them!
I was so excited to join in a product swap! I was paired up with Adam Thompson. I was excited to be able to check out his Stop and Respond Reading Graphic Organizers.
We started a new book this week, Gossamer, and I knew this would be perfect to use!!
I shared this picture on Monday, because on a separate paper we are keeping our predictions as we read each chapter. This book is awesome for those, because it is such a strange subject, and something my kids have never thought about.
We started our story on Tuesday, and we have been using these sheets every day. I copied the different pages on different colored paper so that way the kids would know easily what sheet we were going to be working with.
On Tuesday we started filling out our first sheet about our first character Littlest One. We walked through how to do this one together so that way we could do the next one on our own. It was interesting to see what they were able to pull out of the book, and fill in to describe the character, and figure out what this character is because she isn't a human, but it doesn't come out and say what she is.
On Wednesday we were reading and there was a twist at the end of chapter 3 that the kids didn't see coming already. We used the Good or Bad Effect page so that way the kids could reflect on what had just happened. Then they were able to say what good thing could happen, or what bad thing could happen.
Thursday we weren't able to add another page to our notes, because we were still developing the characters, and learning more about the setting. We were able to add more predictions to our notes, and were ready for a full day on Friday!
Friday we jumped right back into our book, and the kids kept asking for more!! We started learning more about our characters, and the setting. During one chapter I really wanted them to pay attention to where the story was taking place, and what was so important about it, so we filled out the setting page.
We also learned A TON more about one of our main characters, so we filled out another character page. I had them fill this out by themselves, and then we went over it so they had the opportunity to add more details.
I can't wait to continue to use these, and to watch my kids dive into the novel more!! I love these, and love the way the kids are able to think more about what we are reading!
You can check out all of the other awesome products that were swapped over at Learning to Be Awesome!! Thank you for such a fun opportunity!
Good morning!! I'm linking up this morning with Doodle Bugs Teaching to bring you my Five for Friday!
This week has been a busy week, but I was so excited Tuesday night! I registered for the TPT conference!! Have you registered yet!?! I can't wait to see so many friends there this summer, meet so many new people, and to learn so much!!
I saw this video on You Tube this week! If you haven't seen it, please make sure you do! I want to share it at devotions too, it is that good!
I've been working on a secret project with some of my blogging buddies, and I am so excited where we are so far! It is going to be amazing, and I think you will all LOVE it!! I can't wait to share it with you!!
I love Instagram, and if you aren't on there yet, you should be!! It is my favorite way to connect with friends daily, and it is also great for helping me get dressed in the morning!! Follow @jro1583 and @aem8168 to see their pins for the week! I love these!! Plus Jameson and Lindsey do them too, and Jameson taught me how to take my full body selfie!! Sorry you don't really get to see it in these pictures!!
Finally, my music video to share with you this week is a new favorite of mine. I LOVE this song right now, and was listening to Pandora and came across it!!
Last Thursday we celebrated our 100th Day of School! It was a busy day, and we didn't have all day to celebrate, but we made the most of our morning!
During math we came up with 100 ways to make 100!
It was fun to see all of the different ways they could come up with 100, and at the end we came up with more than 100 ways! They were lining up to get their post its on the board!
It was fun to see all of the different ways that they came up with. They started thinking outside the box, and started using money, coins, place value, addition, subtraction and multiplication.
We had a fun snack too! I had each kid bring in 10 baggies with ten things in them each. I had 9 kids forget to bring something in though, so I had bowls of cereal to share. It was fun to see what they brought in, and then they loved that they were able to eat!
We used the aging ap to change our pictures to our 100 year olds selves too! That was HILARIOUS!! Please make sure you download that ap if you haven't celebrated your day yet!!
I haven't done this link up in a long time, so I figured it would be a great time to get back into the routine of linking up with Christina over at Miss DeCarbo Sugar and Spice!
My first pick is perfect for Valentine's Day! I wish I would have found this sooner since we had superhero day last week! I will keep these in mind for next year though, so that way I can share them with my kids then too! I love that each of these comes with a printable too! I love these scripture Valentine's Day cards! I think that I'm going to use the glow stick ones for my son's class! He loves taking a bath with a glow stick, so I'm sure other 3 and 4 year olds do too!
This looks like a fun art activity!! I love the ones that are only four colors, and are using the black and white too!! I can think of so many fun ways to incorporate this, and I for sure plan on having them with on these as morning work for the next week! I can't wait to see how they turn out!
My class has been having a hard time lately with using kind words and actions. I really think that using this next week will be a great example of what we are to be doing or saying to our friends! I love that they will write notes to each other every day, and everyone will get a note every day. I think I might assign them who they have to write a note to every day, and then they can write more notes if they'd like to.
I hope some of these ideas help you in the next few weeks, but make sure you check out all of the other blogs too, so you can get pinspired!! :)
I LOVE the first of the month because it brings with it Farley's Currently link up!! It is by far one of my favorite link ups, and the one that I look forward to every month!!
I love listening to Pandora while I work because then I can get a variety of music. One of my favorite stations is the All Sons and Daughters station. This song came on, and I LOVE IT!!
I am LOVING my supportive hubby! Look what I did tonight!!!
I CAN NOT WAIT for JULY!!! He was totally okay with me signing up for the conference, and I know it is going to be AMAZING!!! I can't wait to find out more, and hang out with all of my friends, and meet so many more amazing people this summer!!
We are going to be in Vegas for the entire week because he is going to the SDE DI conference, so it is going to be nothing short of AMAZING!
I am totally up way past my bedtime, but with bible study on Monday nights it totally throws off everything else I have to get done. Plus it's the beginning of the month, so I had to pay some bills, and check Facebook of course. :)
I am still trying to get caught up on my grading, so I should be doing that instead of typing this, but this is so much more fun!
I would for sure be Mrs. Sarcastic if I was in a pageant. I am sometimes a little too sarcastic, but my hubby knew what he was getting into when he married me, right!?!
If you haven't done it yet, go check out Farley's page and make sure you check out what everyone else is currently up to!! Proud to represent the second page here!! Thanks for an amazing link up Farley!!
Wow! How did January fly by so quickly!?! Between the illness sweeping my family, and short weeks turned long, it was over before I knew it!!
Tonight I'm linking up, rather late I know, but still linking up with The Teaching Trio!
I am up late trying to get all of my grading done!! With being sick last weekend, and into the beginning of the week, I am WAY behind! I am hoping to get most of it caught up tonight, and then making myself a to do list for the week to make sure next weekend I'm not still playing catch up!
My principal sent out an email last week asking us to sign up for when we want our formal observation. I need to figure out what lesson I want him to come see, and then make sure I get signed up quickly!!
I am really hoping I have time to work on some Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day activities this week! I know those things will both be here before I know it!
My son has not been enjoying getting up before the sun, so I'm really hoping he'll let me sleep in next Saturday!!
This week I am HAPPY to spend more time with the first grade! My students have done countless projects with them, and we are happy to spend two more afternoons together this week!!
Make sure to check out The Teaching Trio to see what everyone else is up to this week! If you are still up, hop on over to TPT to catch some good sales before it's too late!
