I haven't done one of these activities forever! Thanks for the reminder! This would be a fun activity to do when we return from Spring Break... before we begin TESTING! I really like how each writer uses a different color, neat idea!
Yes, thanks for the reminder about this! I bet your class had fun with the activity and mixing up the writing routine a little bit. Around Easter, we create a progressive story. I give the class the title, The Easter Bunny and the Egg. Each student has to write two sentences and pass the story along. Then, each student types their part ( without having read the rest of the story beyond their part) in computer lab and illustrates it using Kid Pix Studio. The class book turns out so stinkin cute! I am assuming the kids passed the paper and added ideas. I have done that before, and it's lots of fun. The stories are always interesting at the end. Glad you "shared" it. :-) I enjoy giving groups chart paper to work together on writing hooks and closings...that sort of thing. Carla
