This year has had it's challenges, that's for sure!  It has been a year of ups and many downs!  You can read all about how I found out in November that I was not having my contract renewed for the '16-'17 school year here.

Through all of that, the pain, grieving and drama, I have persevered.  I know that it has only been with the help of God that I have been able to make it this far.  God knew exactly what I would need, and He gave me that.  I have been BEYOND BLESSED to spend my last year at my school with an AMAZING teaching partner!  This was my first year with a teaching partner, and I couldn't have asked for a better one!!

Teaching partners come into your life for many different reasons! Luckily my teaching partner is my best friend! So blessed to have this girl in my life!

Stephanie has been someone that I have been able to confide in.  She has been someone that I have been able to bounce ideas off of.  She has been someone for me to cry with, laugh with, and have fun with.  She has been the type of teaching partner I wish I could have had every year.  Stephanie is an AMAZING teacher and I know that she is going to do amazing things in kinder at her new school.  Even though we are going our separate ways I know that I have been blessed to work with her.  She is going to be someone that I still call to bounce ideas around with, someone who I can confide in, and thankfully one of my best friends!!

Having a partner in crime to go through your school year with is exactly what we each need! Having a lifeguard in my life is exactly what I needed this year!   Dress up days will never be the same without my teaching partner! This girl is my rock, and my best friend! I am beyond blessed to have taught with her this year!

We had a super year together in third grade this year! God blessed me with exactly what I need in a teaching partner this year to help me, guide me, and teach me! This girl is AMAZING!!

I am so thankful for my final year in third grade.  Despite the hard times this year, I have been blessed with another great group of kids.  I have been blessed to make lasting memories.  I have been blessed with a new friend who I can now call my best friend! I know that our friendship does not end on May 26 when the school year does, but will continue forever.  For that I would relive this year again and again!  Thank you Steph for loving me, for accepting me, and for not thinking that I am extremely crazy!!  Love you!

Happy Friday! I am so excited to be linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to bring you my Five for Friday today!!

A great morning message is a fun way to get your students excited about the day and ready to tackle anything!

Going back the week after Spring Break is always an adjustment, but I was determined to jump right into things and get my kids fired up for the LAST QUARTER!  Can you believe we are already 3/4 of the way done with the school year?!!  Thanks to some inspiration from Miss 5th I wrote this awesome note to my students to inspire them!!

An amazing TWO DO list to help you tackle your lists and make sure you can handle everything!

I LOVE these two do lists!!  What a great idea from one my fellow AZ besties, Ashlyn!!  I can't wait to get these copied and ready to go so I can tackle all of my TWO do lists!!

This week we started our ecosystem projects.  I love these projects because they are able to learn more about different ecosystems, and we look at producers, consumers, decomposers, food chains, food webs, predators and prey all at the same time!

This week has been a week of answered prayers!  Last week I was very worried about what I would be doing this next year.  I didn't have any leads as of a week ago.  Since then I have had TWO interviews, and now have TWO job offers!  I am so excited about what I will be doing next year and can't wait to make my final decision.  I am so excited to see what God has in store for me and where He is leading me!!

I was driving home from running some errands on Sunday and this song came on the radio. I had just heard Building 429 at a concert a few weeks ago, and this song just spoke to me this week!  I LOVE it and it has been on REPEAT all week!!  I hope that you love it too!

I have survived my week of parent teacher conferences!!  I am so thankful for the time that I was able to spend with each of my parents meeting with them to discuss their child's progress, but thankful for the extra time back in our week!!

This week we finished up our place value interactive notebooks.  I LOVE that my students are able to practice their skills, and then create their own numbers and not just use the ones that are created for them!

This week was a fun week of parent teacher conferences.  We had a great time meeting with parents this week, and getting to share our student's growth and achievements.  I shared all about my parent teacher conference tips here!

I was excited to start cleaning some things out and find my awesome Thanksgiving math task cards and some of my Christmas ones!  I was excited to get the copies made, and ready to go for the next four weeks!  I know that they are going to FLY BY!!

Do you follow my amazing friend Angie?!  Wednesday night she posted on Instagram this amazing picture!  I immediately ran to my TPT cart and added it!  My kids LOVE their brag tags this year, and I am so thankful that Angie keeps giving  me more great ideas on how to give them new brag tags!!

This week's video is all about the great things that God has done for us!  I know I wouldn't be where I am without His mercy and grace.

Can you believe the first week of November is already over!?!  Where is this year going?  So hard to believe that Christmas is approaching so quickly!!

It has been such a fun week in math this week!!  I can't wait to share more about our week, but check out these super fun pictures for a sneak peek!!

Today I start parent teacher conferences and I am actually pretty excited about them!  I start with some amazing students today, and I am excited to share their progress so far this year!  I shared, along with some other amazing bloggers all about parent teacher conferences earlier this week!!  You can check it out here!!

A fun way to display your parent teacher conferences to keep you and others on schedule

I was so excited to work on my Pinterest boards this week, and find some awesome fall ideas for the next two weeks, and start thinking about Christmas and winter ideas!  Do you have a love for pinning as well!?  You can check out my pins here, and leave your name in the comments and I'll follow you!!

Have you checked out my amazing friend Jennifer from The Blessed Teacher!?!  She has some amazing ideas on her blog!  I am LOVING her newest idea on how to keep kids remembering RICE!

Not only does she have amazing ideas, but she is an amazing friend!!  I am so thankful that she is part of my tribe, and that she is so close that we can share ideas daily!!

The Blessed Teacher

This week's video is another one that is speaking to my heart this week.

What a week!!  I am so thankful that today is the last day of the quarter, and the last day of school before FALL BREAK!!!

This morning I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to bring you my Five for Friday!!

I was so excited to bring some fall to my classroom this week!!

We've had a long week of testing, and it has meant I've had time to prep some things for the weeks after break!  I'm excited because my copying is done, plans are made, and I will get time to relax this break!!  (Or create of course!!)

I sell Origami Owl, and I am so proud to work for this company.  This month, we have a breast cancer exclusive and 100% of the profits that are made by Origami Owl are being donated!! What an amazing idea!!  I have already bought this set and I am proud to wear it for my grandma!

Do you ever have those days when you just need that extra prayer, or things aren't going the way you had hoped?  I was so thankful to find Angela's website, and her daily devotions!  If you haven't checked them out yet, you want to!!  They are AMAZING!!

Today I am linking up with my amazing friends Ashley and Angie to bring you this month's #2getherwearebetter post all about Classroom Improvements!!

I am excited for this month's link up because this is exactly what I have been thinking about!!  I am always looking for ways to improve not only my classroom, but myself as well!  I know that I am not a perfect teacher, and I know that I have new things to learn!

A clean teacher desk area is a must for my new and improved room!

I had the joy of getting to move into a new to me room this year!  I have taught at the same school since 2008, and have taught third grade since then.  I am just moving down the hall, as we switched around some classrooms.  I moved all of my stuff into a different classroom on the last day of school, but hadn't been able to get into my NEW room until TUESDAY!!  Yes, as in TWO DAYS AGO!!  Needless to say I was there on Tuesday for 8 hours just moving stuff into my new room!  I did start to get some things set up, but not too much!  One of the things that I want to work on this year is making sure that this area stays CLEAN!!  I downsized my teacher desk AGAIN this year!!  I hate my desk taking up so much room, when I hardly ever work there!  Plus, my students are allowed to use my computer as we only have one other desktop computer in the room!  I need to make sure I keep it clean so they aren't pushing things aside, or leaning over things to work.  I had to leave Tuesday, and this is not clean yet, but it is the beginning!

I was debating getting rid of this piece!  I don't know for sure what I am going to use it for yet, but our maintenance guys said they would paint it for me if I didn't get rid of it, so I agreed!  I went out and bought them the spray paint I wanted, and they said they would paint it!  We'll see how it turns out, and I'm excited to figure out how to use it!  What would you use it for?!  I'm really confused on what to do with that really big hole on the left where there are no shelves?!

Thankful board for students to record things they are thankful for!

My thankful board was really high last year, and students couldn't check out what they were thankful for.  I also had to take down and hang their thankful cards EVERY WEEK last year!  That took SO MUCH TIME!!  This is the only board that I did on Tuesday, because it is my favorite!  I am not done with it yet!  This year I am going to spray paint their hooks as well, so they match of course!!  Then I will put up their hooks, and my signs to go on the board as well!  I can't wait to share this board with them in August and learn what they are thankful for!!

Displaying student work in an easy to change area

These were SUPER high last year too!  As in so high I had to climb on top of my really high stool to be able to take things off or put things up!  I am debating where I am going to display their work this year, but I know that I want it lower so it is not as hard for me to display their work.  I think that if I had it lower then I would be more likely to change it more often!!

Saxon math - bringing in extra resources

We have Saxon text books, but I am not a FAN.  To be honest, I really don't like it at all. Sure, it does a great job spiraling, but it gives students no time to master ANYTHING, and yes there are word problems, but there is NO DEPTH!!  I know some people are big fans of Saxon, and I respect your opinion, but I am not a fan.  I try desperately to supplement as much as possible!  I'm excited because this year I will have TWO math classes of 14 students so I know I will be able to do so much more with them!  I can't wait to start working on this to figure out how I can push these kids and make them dive deeper!!

Interactive notebooks for science and social studies

Last year I started working on some science and social studies interactive notebooks!  I know that this is something that I want to continue to work on.  The units I did where the students had their notebooks to go with the lessons they did so much better on assessments!  They were engaged, paying attention, and writing!  They wanted to know what was going on, and they were excited.  The lessons where we didn't get to write in their notebooks I was talking to a wall!  I am also excited because from reading Teaching with Intention, Mindsets in the Classroom, and Learn Like a Pirate, I have so many more ideas on how to run science and social studies this year too!!

God is GOOD!

Finally, and the most important to me, I want to make sure that in every lesson I teach, and every thing I do that my students know that God LOVES them.  I am very blessed to work in a school where I am able to share this with my students.  I don't want to teach it in religion in the morning, and then not talk about it for the rest of the day.  I NEED to make sure that I am more intentional about bringing religion into the other subject areas, and that I encourage my students to dig deep when we pray!

You won't want to miss out on what these other amazing bloggers are sharing on how they are going to make improvements this next year!!  Thank you for taking the time to read through my post!!  I hope that you are inspired to go and think about how you can make improvements too!  Feel free to link up below, but make sure to check out our amazing hosts, Ashley and Angie!!

Good morning!

I am up early again during my summer vacation.  Who in the world keeps waking up at 5:30 when your alarm goes off during the school year!?  Am I the only one!?  At least tomorrow I'll have little people who will be up with me.  This morning though I am enjoying the quiet while I type my Five for Friday post to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!

I am SOOO excited about Vegas in just a few short weeks!  I can't believe that it is almost here!  This week I received my next piece for Vegas.  I am LOVING my new shirt!!  I can't wait to wear it in Vegas!  You can check out some amazing shirts here!

Earlier this week I was excited to have lunch with Jennifer!  Jennifer was the first blogger I met "in real life."

My babies have been staying with my mom this week as my hubby has been recovering from minor surgery last week.  He has had to lay down for the past week, and he is going stir crazy!  We are both excited that our babies are coming home today!!

Wednesday I was able to meet up with my new teaching partner and we were able to set up our schedules for next year.  I am really excited about some things that we are going to try and do!  Now to just get to the planning so that way we can show how it will work!!  Thank you Learn Like a Pirate, Mindsets in the Classroom and Teaching with Intention for showing me better ways to reach my students!

Phil Wickham is one of my favorites.  I love this song too!!  I hope that you enjoy it!
