Currently ~ May 2016

Man oh man, where has this school year gone!?!  Are you anything like me and you thought that this was a year that would never end, but now here we are at the end!?!  I only have 19 school days left!  This is something that hasn't quite sunk in yet!

Today I am excited to be linking up with Farley for another month of Currently!!  I am so sad to hear that this is the last one ever!!

I am LOVING that I was able to spend the weekend with my babies.  Sure, they drive me crazy, and sometimes I wonder how they will turn out.  Especially when we are throwing fits in the middle of Sprouts because the little one got to put up the lime and not the big one.  Oh man, it was a long Saturday morning, but I know that in 5, 10 and 15 years I will be wanting these crazy weekends back.  So today, I am thankful that my husband had the chance to go on a trip, and that I was able to spend this time with my babies!

I am needing my classroom to be packed up and ready to go.  I am so torn on what to leave up until the bitter end, and what I am okay with taking down.  I don't want the kids to feel like I'm checked out and can't wait to leave, but at the same time the last day of school is my last day.

Truth - this school year has been full of its obstacles.  I have had moments of pure frustration.  I have had moments of defeat.  But do you know what!?  Through all of this I know that there is a blessing through this.  I know that God has a plan for me, and has used me this year.  I know that God is with me every day, and despite how others may make me feel, I know that He is proud of the way I have handled things.  I have had blessings this year, and I am so thankful for my friendships, relationships and students!

Make sure to check out Farley for her final Currently!  I am so sad to see this monthly party ending!

  1. This year is hard for me to pack up, too. I won't be returning till January next year and it is SO tough to get my room ready! 20 more days! Eek! Good luck with everything and hang in there!

  2. I'm sad Currently will be no more either!! It's so much fun!
It's a hard balance getting packed up but keeping the students engaged! I need to begin that process too! The end of the year is always a reflective time for me- sorry about all those obstacles, but I'm glad you're finding the blessings too! God does have a plan and purpose, even when we can only see one glimpse of the full puzzle!

  3. I've had a challenging year as well. I always try to remember that when I fully realize I can't do it without Him, then I'm more likely to love my students as I should (with His love). Blessings!

  4. Love your words at the end. I am sad to see how many people have had difficult years, but happy knowing something great is around the corner for all of us as long as we don't give up!

  5. Oh I am with you on how soon to pack up. I have worked with teachers who begin packing up the second the calendar switches to May (we go until the first or second week of June depending upon Labor Day) and then wonder why the kids are bonkers.

I try my best to pack my "hidden" stuff up first (ie the stuff in my closets or back storage area that the kids don't see/use daily) because that is a LOT of stuff! Then the last week of school, I take everything else down. We usually do fun stuff the last week (field trips and such) and our last three days are 1/2 days so I feel better about having the room empty for that.

  6. I have the same amount of time left and I haven't even thought about packing up!!! So much to do and I will probably do it all last minute. Enjoy every precious minute with your babies. Mine are growing up so fast and most days they want nothing to do with me :( #teenagers
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope the 19 days goes quickly and smoothly!

    Aloha,

  8. Love Lauren Diagle! I am so glad you have found the blessings in a rough year. As I face trying to decide if I should go back to full time teaching I have really been praying for God's will, not mine and putting my faith in his timing! It's so hard sometimes!
